New programs, opportunities and more support for students and faculty

The Invest in Excellence campaign will raise $175 million over the next 10 years. This campaign includes more four-year scholarships, endowed chairs and professorships, and updated facilities.

Over the last 20 years, the goal and vision for The College of Idaho was to have a $100 million endowment and 900 to 1,000 students. There were times in our past when that did not appear to be achievable. However, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our faculty and administration, and the incredible generosity of the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation, we are now just a short distance from meeting that goal.

The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation gift brings our total assets to more than $100 million and our improved student recruitment and retention is bringing us closer to our enrollment goals. This is all wonderful news, but for the College to continue to provide the same opportunities for the future, we need to broaden our financial support base.

To do that, we have kicked off a $175 million, 10-year comprehensive fundraising campaign. The campaign provides benefits for our students and faculty and improves our buildings.

Campaign goal – $175 million

• $75 million has already been given by J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation as the lead gift
• $50 million for the College endowment to fund:
  • Four-year scholarships – $29 million
  • New academic chairs and professorships – $6 million
  • Faculty professional development – $2 million
  • Athletic endowment – $5 million
  • Campus ministry – $2 million
  • National lecture series – $2 million
  • Student international travel – $2 million
  • Student Activities such as debate, Model U.N., student philanthropy, undergraduate research – $2 million
• $20 million for unrestricted fund
• $30 million to remodel, update and build new facilities
  • Remodel Boone Hall
  • Remodel Terteling Library
  • Remodel Jewett Auditorium and Chapel
  • Construct a new Track
  • Remodel Dining Commons
  • Construct new Recreation Facility
  • Add a new Baseball Facility
  • Symms Soccer Field Upgrade

There are many ways for you to be involved in the campaign, and we encourage your participation. The gifts you make will have a direct, tangible benefit on our students. As is evident from our 117-year history, our students are the ones who will make the great state of Idaho, the country and the world a brighter, safer and more prosperous place to live.
